Civic Prism 250 Privacy Policy

This policy describes the offline Android app. External Common Sense 250 or JustCitizens websites have separate practices and policies.

1. Responsible entity

Civic Prism 250 is provided by Common Sense 250, 445 E 2760 N, Lehi, Utah 84043, United States. App privacy questions may be directed to team@justcitizens.us.

2. Adult audience

The app is intended only for adults age 18 and older in the United States. It is not designed or directed to children.

3. Educational scope

The app provides offline civic-reasoning, source-literacy, deliberation, facilitation, and general civic-process education.

4. Political-content boundary

The app does not campaign, endorse candidates or parties, rank political positions, conduct polling, solicit petitions or donations, or provide targeted persuasion.

5. Data not collected

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise or approximate location, device identifiers, contacts, demographics, political opinions, affiliations, voting history, messages, files, photos, audio, or usage analytics.

6. Local app state

Workshop progress, selected folios, prompt position, and clock state are temporary on-device UI controls that Android may restore after an activity recreation. They are not political profiles and are not sent anywhere.

7. Display preferences

Larger Type and Reduce Motion choices may be stored locally on the device using Android app preferences. These settings do not identify you or describe civic views.

8. Permissions

The app requests no Internet permission and no user-granted camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, SMS, phone, notification, advertising, or storage permission. Android build tooling adds a package-scoped signature permission only to protect internal dynamic receivers; it is not user-granted or available to other apps.

9. No account

No account, login, membership profile, cloud sync, public profile, or identity verification is offered.

10. No ads or tracking

The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, telemetry, cookies, pixels, cross-app tracking, or personalized content system.

11. No sale or sharing

Because the app does not collect personal data, it does not sell, rent, disclose, or share personal data with data brokers, advertisers, campaigns, parties, or other third parties.

12. External sources

A source link opens only after confirmation and is handled by the system browser. The browser and destination website have their own privacy practices; the app does not receive the browsing result. Official JustCitizens or Common Sense 250 websites may operate accounts, payments, or analytics under their separate policies. Those website practices are not part of Civic Prism 250's offline app behavior.

13. Retention and deletion

Temporary UI controls may be restored while Android retains the app task state. They are removed by Android Clear Storage or uninstall. Local display preferences remain until reset, Android Clear Storage, or uninstall. No server-side app data exists.

14. Backup and transfer

Android backup and device-transfer extraction are disabled for the app's local files and preferences.

15. Security

The small amount of non-sensitive display state remains in Android's app sandbox. No method can guarantee absolute security, but the app minimizes risk by collecting no personal or political data.

16. Children

We do not knowingly collect data from children. Adults should not use the app to enter, record, or transmit information about a child; the app provides no such input field.

17. Independence and current information

Civic Prism 250 is an independent educational resource from Common Sense 250. It is not a government service, election authority, legal adviser, or official source for voting deadlines, registration, ballots, results, public notices, or legal requirements. Current information must be checked with the responsible authority's current official source.

18. Changes and contact

Material policy changes should accompany an app update and an updated public policy date. Privacy questions: team@justcitizens.us. Policy effective: July 31, 2026.
